David C. Weaver is a graduate of Lafayette College, Easton, PA.  He received his J.D. in 1995 from the West Virginia University College of Law where he was a member of the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Team, and served as the Law Clerk to the General Counsel for West Virginia University during his third year.

Mr. Weaver also served as law clerk for the Honorable Dennis M. Sweeney, Circuit Court for Howard County.  Upon completion of his clerkship in 1996, he joined a medium sized Frederick litigation firm as an associate.  Since then, Dave has lived and practiced in Frederick primarily as a principal of a small firm practicing in civil dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.  Dave also served as in-house counsel to Montgomery County Public Schools.

Mr. Weaver’s practice areas include construction law, commercial landlord-tenant, employment, transactions, small business, business litigation, and IDEA cases.  Acting as a special mediator to the Circuit Court for Frederick and Howard Counties, as well as the Maryland Association of Realtors, mediation is also a focus area of Mr. Weaver’s practice.

Mr. Weaver has been active in the Maryland Bar Association, serving as a Leadership Academy Fellow in 2001-2002 and member of the Committee on Ethics 2003-2005.  Dave is also active with the Bar Association of Frederick County, serving as its President from 2005-2006.  Through the bar associations as well as through individual efforts, Dave has been involved in numerous charitable efforts for many organizations throughout the Frederick community.  He is currently serving on the Board of Directors for both the United Way of Frederick and Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley and is the Chairman of the Next Big Project Committee for the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek.

Dave has received numerous accolades during his career.  He was appointed by Governor Robert Erlich to serve as the Chairman of the Judicial Nominating Committee from 2002-2006.  In 2006 he was presented with the James McSherry Award for his contribution to the Frederick County Bar Association and in 2005 he was named as one of Frederick Magazine’s People to Watch.  In 2003 and again in 2005, Dave was rated by his colleagues as one of the top three attorneys in the practice areas of construction, employment, and education law in Frederick Magazine’s Lawyers poll.

David resides in historic Middletown with his wife Renee and their twin daughters Peyton and Morgan.   He enjoys spending time away from the practice of law coaching his girl’s basketball and soccer teams, gardening, and running.
